Betty Says: Find the Fun

Silly Stuff

Enjoy this photo recap of the recent weeks.

Exhibit A: The Flowing Vest

This is a tunic/dress with an attached vest. It’s nice and flowy.

Put me on a bike and it flaps behind me like billowing black wings. Just call me Batgirl.

The registration form said to request gendered styles. I chose either a Women’s M or L (can’t recall which) for myself and a Men’s XS for the Assistant. We got two unisex L shirts. “Should I wear it with a belt?” he asked.

Waiting in line for packet pickup for the 5k. The look on this guy’s face says it all.

My contact email from the site goes to hello@. I love how Mailbox cuts it off.

I hope you shout “To the batcave!” as often as possible while biking in that dress.

Made me smile yesterday morning: lemon pie overnight oats. 1/2 c oats, 1/2 c milk, little vanilla, pinch of sugar, 1 T chia seeds, zest of about 1/3 of a smallish lemon. Add graham cracker crumbs in the morning. YUM.

Also, Raj being all sweet and grateful that I make him oats at night when I make mine.

Also, trying out an extra 5MG of Adderall. Basically owning my to do list this week as a result.

The Assistant has a watermelon bike helmet. As we rode along together he declared that we were the crime-fighting duo of Batgirl and Melonhead.

Lemon pie! Lori, that’s genius. Ooh, I think I even have some lemon curd. I wonder if I could use that to top the oats?

Can I send you some items on my to-do list, since you’re doing such a spectacular job with yours? 🙂

I just went to a new dentist after mumble mumble years of no dental visits. It turned out that he was an adorable little Greek man who kept saying, “You are taking excellent care of your teeth. I am looking at your teeth and thinking they are like someone who goes to dentist every six months. This is amazing!”

Also, I’m having my (mainly special ed) junior high students write appreciation letters to their teachers. Then I get the joy of delivering them and making teachers happy, which makes me smile!

Well, now, the dentist is a pleasant surprise. I’m so paranoid about my teeth that I go regularly and would have a heart attack if I went mumble mumble years between.

I love the students writing letters of appreciation to their teachers. Our class mom had the kids do that, and mine said, “I guess I have to say she’s the best teacher. I mean, maybe she is and maybe she’s not. I’ve only had two. I really don’t know.” Uh, let’s write down something a little more compelling, ok, kiddo?
