I absolutely get behind the idea of reusable shopping bags. The problem is that most of them are smallish, not terribly stable and barely hold more than the plastic bags that they’re replacing. I’m all for keeping a stash of bags in the trunk of my car, but less delighted by the idea of having to carry a dozen of them to make it home with the weekly groceries.
After trying more bags than I care to count, I found the Lands’ End market tote. They’re made from canvas, so they’re sturdy. They hold at least as much as a paper grocery bag, and possibly more — I’ve packed more stuff into one of these than I ever imagined possible. The straps are long enough to sling over your shoulders, making it easier to make it from car to kitchen in a single trip. And best of all, they’re washable. Chicken juice leaked into the bag? Wash it.
These are my go-to bags for almost everything. I use them for groceries. I carry the Tiny Kitchen Assistant’s towel and clothes for swim lessons. I use them for beach bags, library books and anything else that needs to be toted around. They’re fabulous!
And no, I’m not a compensated endorser. They just work for me.
