Training: Back On My Feet

Rockin' my mismatched boots, the new hot look for fall.

I got the best news this week (best news under the circumstances, anyway): I can put weight on my foot again. Yes, I’m still confined to the boot, but a return to mobility — even restricted mobility — is very good news.

I’m still sticking with my stretching regimen, which helps to work out  some of the aches and pains that come with the crutches and hopping. I’m also doing more crunches and knee push-ups than I really enjoy.

I’m looking forward to moving on to some modified rehab-style Pilates this week, something I’ve really missed a lot. Now that I’m able to stand on two feet, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to put my TRX to better use. My modified BOSU/TRX combination worked fairly well, but it turned out to be unbelievably stressful and draining to try to maintain my balance without letting my right foot touch the ground.

I’m really feeling much better about everything. Sometimes, all you really need is just a glimmer of hope to improve your outlook!
