My grandmother — Betty — taught me how to crochet when I was a kid. I wasn’t very patient, so it remained an underdeveloped skill. In 2013, I spent some quality time on YouTube re-learning the skills that I’d largely forgotten. I bought some nice wool and very slowly crocheted a shawl for my Nana for her 95th birthday. And from that humble effort, I discovered a whole new world.
